How do I join Nsfas; Register With NSFAS

The NSFAS NSFAS Registration for the 2024/2025 Academic intake will be available from October 2023 until January 31, 2024. All students who want to register for financial aid for the 2024/2025 academic year are encouraged by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) to prepare and verify their eligibility before completing the registration process through the myNSFAS Student Portal. We strongly suggest all applicants register as soon as the application window opens and before the deadline, as NSFAS may not accept late entries for 2024.

NSFAS Application  Date 

  • October 2023 to January 31, 2024

Applications are being accepted by the NSFAS for the year 2024. Kindly submit a grant proposal by January 31, 2024, for NSFAS. January 31, 2024, is the new deadline for applications for 2024. Your application will not be accepted if it is received after the deadline, so please send it on time!

Steps To Register NSFAS

To register to NSFAS follow these steps;

  • Step 1: Go to www.nsfas.org.za and click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab.
  • Step 2: Create a myNSFAS account.
  • Step 3: Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab and complete the sections on the screen.
  • Step 4: Upload required supporting documents where applicable.
  • Step 5: Click on ‘Submit’

NSFAS Registration Document To Submit In 2024

Documents Needed for NSFAS Online Application 2024-2025 are

  • Certified copy of your ID.
  • photocopy of a SASSA letter
  • Certified copy of the ID document of each household member including parents or legal guardian.
  • Certified copy of your latest academic transcript or exam results
  • If either of your parents is deceased, please provide a certified copy of the death certificate.
  • If your parents are divorced, please provide a certified copy of the divorce decree.

When Will The Results Of The NSFAS Application Be Out?

All applicants will be informed of their application results as soon as NSFAS receives confirmation from the institution that they have been extended an academic offer. Before the school year begins, you will receive information about this by email, SMS, and your myNSFAS account.

Can Students With Disabilities Submit NSFAS Applications?

Yes. It is suggested for students with disabilities to seek financial aid. For all qualified disabled students enrolled in any of the 26 public universities or 50 TVET colleges, NSFAS offers special disability financing. The applicant’s annual household income cannot be more than R600,000.
